Lovely shot. Herons are beautiful birds but they look terribly goofy when they're taking off. :D

The Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), is a wading bird of the heron family Ardeidae, ... It is closely related and similar to the American Great Blue Heron, which differs mostly with regards to the size ..It is a large bird, standing up to 100 cm (39 in) tall and measuring 84–102 cm (33–40 in) long with a 155–195 cm (61–77 in) wingspan.

The Great Blue Heron (It is the largest North American heron and among herons it is surpassed only by the Goliath Heron and the White-bellied Heron. It has head-to-tail length of 97–137 cm (38–54 in), a wingspan of 167-201 cm (66-79 in) a height of 115–138 cm (45–54 in) and a weight of 2.1–3.3 kg (4.6–7.3 lb) is replaced in the Old World by the very similar Grey Heron, which differs in being somewhat smaller (90–98 cm), with a pale gray neck and legs, lacking the browner colors that Great Blue Heron has there.

He is sensing I am harmless. Probably recognizes me. He fears the ravens that are pecking on him though while on flight

But here each time that poor innocent heron flies, those black ravens or crows are attacking him in pair :( Yesterday, I saw him flying very high followed by 2 greedy ravens. I don´t know why.
