Lovely shot. Herons are beautiful birds but they look terribly goofy when they're taking off. :D

The Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), is a wading bird of the heron family Ardeidae, ... It is closely related and similar to the American Great Blue Heron, which differs mostly with regards to the size ..It is a large bird, standing up to 100 cm (39 in) tall and measuring 84–102 cm (33–40 in) long with a 155–195 cm (61–77 in) wingspan.

The Great Blue Heron (It is the largest North American heron and among herons it is surpassed only by the Goliath Heron and the White-bellied Heron. It has head-to-tail length of 97–137 cm (38–54 in), a wingspan of 167-201 cm (66-79 in) a height of 115–138 cm (45–54 in) and a weight of 2.1–3.3 kg (4.6–7.3 lb) is replaced in the Old World by the very similar Grey Heron, which differs in being somewhat smaller (90–98 cm), with a pale gray neck and legs, lacking the browner colors that Great Blue Heron has there.
